Is Apple going to enter the gaming industry?

According to sources around the Net, Apple recently filed a patent that included an application for a handheld gaming system. Could we soon be seeing the iGame?

According to IGN, the patent includes:

"…Toys, games and playthings, namely, handheld units for playing electronic games; handheld units for playing video games; stand alone video game machines; electronic games other than those adapted for use with television receivers only; LCD game machines; electronic educational game machines; toys, namely battery-powered computer games."

Apple is keeping quiet about it, so no one really knows if the system exists or not.
