Spore Release Finally Confirmed

Trying to find out the release date of Spore has been like trying to cure a malignant tumour, but Maxis have finally come out and confirmed a European release date of September 5ht - two full days before its American release.

One small shock was that the DS version of the game will be available from day one alongside the PC and Macintosh versions. Will Wright had this to say:

"We're in our final stages of testing and polish with Spore, and the team at Maxis can't wait to see the cosmos of content created by the community later this year.”

Not long to wait then until you can create your very own universe. Or will it turn out to be a load of old Big Bang?
