According to the source, there should be a Madden 09 demo available on both Xbox Marketplace and Playstation Network on August 1st. It also states the demo won't be the usual type we're used to:

“This will not be a typical demo. Instead of traditional gameplay with reduced quarter length it will feature time in the virtual trainer and then head into one of the ‘Madden Moments,’ this one from the Super Bowl.”
