Microsoft Did Purchase Israeli Tech Firm, 3DV

Following earlier reports, it's now been confirmed that Microsoft bought Israeli tech firm, 3DV. Microsoft’s Moshe Lichtman mentioned 3DV in a press conference relating to Microsoft’s R&D centre in Israel:
“The R&D centre helped Microsoft in buying the intellectual property of 3DV Systems, and in the wake of that dozens of the company’s employees were recruited to work at the development centre."
Why do we care? Apparently this is where the basis of Project Natal technology started from, although Microsoft say it was all conceived in-house.

Analyst Doesn't Believe In Project Natal

Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz doesn't have faith in Microsoft's Project Natal and believes Sony's motion control technology is a better concept:
“Natal appeared to me to be a technological solution in search of a problem."

“I had a very hard time envisioning playing Modern Warfare 3 using Natal. By contrast, I had a very easy time envisioning it (and enjoying it) using Sony’s control/motion capture scheme.”

PS3 Title 'Agent' Will Be About Espionage And Set In 1970s

Take-Two boss Ben Feder has shed a little more light on upcoming PS3 exclusive, Agent, commenting the game is set in the 1970's and will be all about espionage:
“It’s a completely different storyline, there is completely different character development."

“It’s a game about espionage, set in the 1970s. GTA is obviously more about an urban experience, a typically rags to riches experience. Very, very different story lines, very different character development. It’s going to be very fresh for gamers.”
Feder was also a little elusive on just how exclusive the game would be too:
“These are all relationship matters and contractual matters. When we talk about our relationships and our exclusivity for PS3 and Agent, for example, we don’t disclose anything beyond what we’ve already said."

“But we think it’s important for us to be with Sony, and it’s important for Sony, I think, to be with us. The game promises to be one of the best games available because of who’s developing it, and because of the subject matter.”

Pachter: "Media Underestimated Facebook/Twitter Integration Announcement

Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has commented on the announcement of Facebook and Twitter being integrated into the Xbox 360 is more important than anything else announced at E3 this year.

Pachter stated how the media and its implications of being in the living on the Xbox 360 machine, all integrated seamlessly was for more important than conceived. Pachter also compared it to Apple TV claiming the Xbox 360 has a much better head start in becoming the 'living room box' companies are aiming for:
“Microsoft appears to me to understand that it can leverage its 30 million installed base advantage if it moves quickly, and Apple will have a long way to go in order to catch up. By far, this was the most important announcement of E3.”

Ride Board Will Make You Feel Like Tony Hawk Without The Danger

Activision CEO Mike Griffith has said the Ride peripheral shipping with the new Tony Hawk game will let you feel like the Birdman himself without the risk of bashing your head open:
“It’s the same analogy as Guitar Hero, where you can feel like you are a rock legend, even if you can’t play a single note; now with Ride you can skate the way a skating legend like Tony Hawk skates, but you won’t break your head open."

“It’s proving to be lots of fun, and the peripheral board, with its sensors, is very responsive. It’s a thrill.”
Until you fall through the coffee table in your living room...
